So yours truly is gonna be a dad! Just doesn’t roll off the tongue as easily as you’d think. Don’t get me wrong…I’m ecstatic. But in the same breath, I’m scared shitless. Nothing can prepare you for those words. But we will soldier on. Winners never quit, and quitters never win. You dig?

September 24, 2009So today is the day. The missus is at the clinic right now finding out whether there’s a brat in our future any time soon. Baited breath doesn’t do it justice.

September 23, 2009But prepare like everything depends on you. That’s a quote from Week 2 in the NFL, and it rings particularly true right now. Just found out that no matter what grand plans you have for the future, be it 2 years, 5 years, 10 years into the future, life has a knack for kicking you in the gentleman vegetables when you least expect it. This happened to one of my parents almost three decades ago, a very good friend (not so much anymore) 19 months ago, another friend 12 months ago. And now it’s happened to me. ECP’s are a fucking joke.
